Shipping Policy

Fast, secure, and fully insured freight delivery across North America.

1. Overview & Processing Times

Engines and transmissions are large, heavy pieces of machinery that cannot be shipped via standard parcel services like Canada Post, USPS, or FedEx Ground. All of our powertrain components are shipped securely strapped to a wooden pallet via LTL (Less Than Truckload) Commercial Freight.

After your payment is verified and cleared, our warehouse requires 1 to 3 business days to process, pull, clean, test, and crate your order. Once the freight truck picks up your pallet, standard transit times range from 3 to 7 business days depending on your location.

2. Delivery Methods

Because freight trucks are massive 18-wheelers, where you choose to have your item delivered heavily impacts the cost and speed of your shipping.

Commercial Delivery (Recommended)

This is the fastest and cheapest method. Shipping to a commercial address (like your local auto repair shop, dealership, or business) means the location has a forklift or a loading dock. Freight carriers can back up and unload the pallet instantly.

Residential / Liftgate Delivery

If you are shipping to a home address, farm, or a business without a forklift, the carrier must dispatch a specialized truck equipped with a hydraulic "Liftgate" to lower the heavy pallet to the street. This service incurs an additional Liftgate Fee.

3. Tracking Your Freight

As soon as your engine or transmission leaves our facility, we will email you a PRO Number (Tracking Number) and the name of the freight carrier (e.g., Day & Ross, TForce, XPO Logistics). You can use this number on the carrier's website to track your pallet's exact location.

4. Crucial: Inspect Before You Sign

When the freight driver arrives, you (or your mechanic) MUST inspect the shrink wrap, pallet, and engine for any signs of physical damage before signing the Bill of Lading (Delivery Receipt).

If you see damage (cracked plastic, dented oil pan, broken sensors), you must write "DAMAGED" on the driver's receipt before signing it. If you sign for the shipment "free and clear" without noting damage, the freight carrier will deny our insurance claim, and you will be responsible for the damages.

5. International & Cross-Border Shipping (USA to Canada)

We routinely ship engines and transmissions seamlessly across the US/Canada border. Prime Canada handles all the necessary NAFTA/USMCA customs paperwork and brokerage fees to ensure your part crosses the border without delays.

  • You will not be surprised by hidden import duties or border tariffs.
  • Transit times crossing the border may take an additional 1-2 business days for customs clearance.

6. Remote & Rural Delivery Surcharges

If you live in an extremely remote or rural location (such as the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alaska, Hawaii, or islands requiring ferry access), standard flat-rate shipping does not apply. You will be contacted by our logistics team with a custom freight quote before your order is finalized.

7. Unsuccessful Deliveries & Storage Fees

If the freight carrier attempts to deliver your engine and no one is available to receive and sign for it, the carrier will take the pallet back to their local terminal. They will then charge a "Redelivery Fee" to bring it out a second time. If you leave the pallet sitting at their terminal for multiple days, they will charge daily "Storage Fees." The customer is 100% responsible for paying any redelivery or storage fees caused by missed deliveries.
